OVERVIEW
Wild North Collective, is a premium travel brand that celebrates Canada’s untamed landscapes, vibrant cultures, and awe‑inspiring wildlife. Wild North Collective is also a Wildlife Photographer & Wilderness Guide to Canada’s wild places. Featuring Owls, bears, forests, stories coast-to-coast and into the far north, for small-group & private journeys.
The brand needed an identity that felt bold, authentic, and instantly connected to the wilderness — while still appealing to a high-end travel audience.
BRIEF
The initial direction by the client leaned toward a familiar, stock-inspired style — lacking distinctiveness and long-term brand value. The goal was to create a logo that felt unique, memorable, and deeply connected to the Canadian wilderness, while maintaining a clean, scalable design suitable for both digital and physical applications.
During the concept phase, I explored an additional direction — what I call a Cynthia Special. This is an unexpected concept the client didn’t request, designed to capture the true essence of the brand in a more refined and strategic way. It often becomes the standout option — and in this case, it did.
DESIGN
The final logo captures the spirit of Canada’s wilderness through bold, considered simplicity.
A clean evergreen silhouette is integrated into the letterform, while a subtle bear element reinforces the connection to wildlife and exploration.
The strong typography ensures clarity and impact across all applications — from digital platforms to apparel and signage.
